Cutone Specialty Foods, Inc. was established in
1995 by Butch Cutone to process excess mushrooms from our family
owned mushroom farm located in Avondale, Pennsylvania. The processing
plant is located in the main distribution facility in Chelsea,
Massachusetts. Here, blanched and marinated mushrooms are produced
under HACCP manufacturing controls.
M. Cutone Mushroom Co., Inc. was established in 1981 by Mario Cutone
Jr. M. Cutone is a family business with the main distribution center
in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Prior to establishing M. Cutone, Mario
had been in the produce business for forty years. He started a
produce distribution company at age eighteen. In 1984, Mario invested
in mushroom facilities in Pennsylvania and began growing his own
product for distribution in the New England area. M. Cutone has
always been and will continue to be a family business with Mario,
Mary, Bob, and Butch at the main location in Chelsea while Mike
is in Avondale, Pennsylvania. From Chelsea, M. Cutone supplies
restaurants, grocery stores, and distributors with all types of
produce, canned goods, and frozen foods. In Pennsylvania, Mike
has expanded the business to produce in excess of 15 million pounds
of fresh mushrooms annually. In addition to white mushrooms, Mike
has also been producing exotic mushrooms; including shiitakes,
oysters, and portabellas.
